Refund & Cancellation Policy

This policy covers paid features on GameOfChess: tournament entry fees, organization (club/institute) subscriptions, membership fees paid to an organization, and training batch fees. All payments are processed through our third-party payment processor; we never store your card details.
1. Tournament entry fees
Entry fees are generally non-refundable once a tournament's registration closes or the bracket has been generated. If a tournament is cancelled by its organizer or by GameOfChess before it starts, paid entry fees are refunded in full.
2. Organization subscriptions
Organization subscription plans are billed for a fixed period (e.g. monthly or yearly) and are non-refundable for the remainder of an already-active period once the subscription has started, except where required by law. You can cancel auto-renewal at any time to prevent future charges.
3. Membership & training fees
Membership plans and training batch fees are set by the individual organization you're joining, including their own refund terms for cancellations (e.g. leaving a club or dropping a training batch before it starts). Contact that organization directly, or reach out to us if you're unable to resolve it with them.
4. How refunds are issued
Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method through our payment processor and typically appear within 5-10 business days, depending on your bank or card issuer.
